July is National Ice Cream Month

Tegner-Miller Insurance Brokers wishes you a happy National Ice Cream Month!

There is nothing quite like a cone of your favorite ice cream on a hot summer day. Whether you prefer Italian stracciatella gelato, raspberry sorbet, or good old American vanilla, we hope you celebrate this month with plenty of scoops of ice cream. However, if you are feeling particularly adventurous, you might want to track down one of these unusual ice cream flavors from around the world.

• Cheese Ice Cream- This frozen fromage is popular in the Philippines. For a truly authentic Manila experience, combine a scoop of cheese ice cream with a scoop of purple yam ice cream on a hamburger bun!
• Lobster Ice Cream- Lobster ice cream is an invention of Ben and Bill’s Chocolate Emporium in lobster-loving Bar Harbor, Maine. Chunks of fresh lobster are mixed into butter-flavored ice cream and served on a homemade cone. You can actually order this bizarre ice cream flavor online from Ben and Bill’s website:
• Akutaq- Sometimes referred to as “Eskimo Ice Cream”, this dish is less a dessert and more a three-course meal in a bowl. Akutaq is a traditional Alaskan dish made from mixed berries, meat (including salmon and caribou) and, instead of a cream base, whipped animal fat!

We asked our staff to tell us their favorite ice cream flavor and the top two flavors are: Pistachio and Cookies and Cream
